For those that love horses and those that love fine art. The sculptor with his many interests in God's creations has completed an extraordinary work in "Champion".
The rich patina consisting of several acid dyes including silver nitrate on the horse's mane may possibly be equaled but never improved upon!
Many, many extra hours go into the making of a bronze sculpture such as "Champion".
Normally, from the clay model the sculpture goes to the mold process. However, in the case of "Champion" a mold is made of the clay, then plaster is poured into the mold. Tens of hours are spent on the plaster model to give it a "mirror" finish. The patina used on "Champion" can only be applied to a mirror finish. Once done, it goes to the second mold stage. At this point, the sculpture is produced using the lost wax process, a process that dates back to 1500 BC.
